Josephine A. Behne

Josephine A. Behne, 100, of Clarence formerly of Oxford Junction passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Clarence Senior Living. 

A visitation will be held Thursday April 4, 2024, 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Dawson Funeral Services in Oxford Junction. Her funeral mass will be held Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10:30 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction. Burial will be at Mayflower Cemetery. 

Josephine Anne was born on May 20, 1923, to Joseph and Barbara (Maruna) Ruley in rural Oxford Junction. On June 22, 1944, she married Orville Behne at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction. She worked at the Oxford Junction Drug Store for many years and was a waitress at many establishments. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Oxford Junction American Legion Auxiliary.  She always enjoyed volunteering in the community. Josephine enjoyed baking, gardening, going on walks and was an avid card player.  

Those left to cherish her memory are Wayne (Nancy) Behne of Lowden; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law Nadine Ruley of Oxford Junction.  She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Orville, son Kenneth Behne, daughter Marilyn Leslie, sister Dorothy (Gene) Picray, and two brothers John and Joseph (Lorna) Ruley.
