Diane C. Hayes

Diane Hayes, 58, of Maquoketa passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018 at University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.     

Her Funeral Service will be held at Lahey and Dawson Funeral Home in Maquoketa on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call on Monday, April 9 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Lahey and Dawson Funeral Home in Maquoketa. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.

Diane Charlene was born on November 28, 1959 to Larry Temple and Donna Lind (Robert Lyons) in Jackson County, Iowa. She married Bob Hayes in July of 1976. They were married for 15 years and two children came of this union. She worked in in-home care and loved being a caretaker for many people, worked at DAC and was an Activities Director at Crestridge.

Diane was a former Den Mother for her son’s cub scouts. She loved animals and going to the river. She would take care of anyone in need. Diane collected many rocks and enjoyed her grandchildren and attending anything they were involved in.

She is survived by her children; Chad (Angela Koontz) Hayes of Maquoketa, Nick Hayes (Stephanie Clark) of Maquoketa, five grandchildren; Tre and Tressa Hayes, Alex Hayes, Miracle Rosener, Paeton Miller, sister Denise (Jeff) Kopp of Marion, brothers; Ron (Renee) Lyons of Atkins, Don (Jayne) Lyons of Dennison, eight nieces and nephews and a great niece and great nephew.   

She is preceded in death by her parents, step-dad Robert Lyons and brother Daniel Lyons.
