William Brown

William Leroy Brown, 85, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2026, at the
Anamosa Care Center.
William was born on May 28, 1940, in Iowa, the son of William Gifford Brown and Violet
Thomas. He lived a simple and hardworking life, enjoying dirt track racing, hunting,
woodworking, and spending time in the garage visiting and tinkering. He especially loved a good
garage sale and finding a bargain, and he was known for always keeping his Pepsi stocked and
close by. He enjoyed watching NASCAR.
William never married and had no children, but he came from a large family of 13 siblings. He is
survived by two brothers, two sisters, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents and eight siblings.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
