Sharon K. Kloft, 84, of Maquoketa, passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Sacred Heart Church in Maquoketa. Her funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday at Sacred Heart Church in Maquoketa. Burial will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springbrook.
Sharon was born on March 13, 1940, in Bellevue, Iowa, to Vern and Ethel (Scholtes) Scheckel. She graduated from Marquette High School. On August 26, 1961, she was united in marriage to Maynard Kloft in Springbrook, Iowa. Sharon worked for Clinton Engines, operating the check machine for several years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Maquoketa. One of her favorite activities was dancing with Maynard, as they could dance for hours. She enjoyed shopping and always found great bargains. To say she was a talented cook and baker would be an understatement; “She made the best cupcakes and bars”.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Maynard; sister Cheryl (Loran) Roling, In-laws Dale Kloft and Mary Lou (Bobby) Clasen and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two children in infancy, and two sisters: Phyllis (Harry) Wagner, Linda (Roger) Budde, and a sister-in-law Diane (Gene) Deppe.
