Ronald D. Brinkman

Ronald D. Brinkman, 87, of Oxford Junction passed away on Monday, October 28, 2024 at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa.

A private family burial will be held at the Massillon Cemetery. Dawson Funeral Services is caring for his family at this time.

Ron was born on May 30, 1937, the son of Elijah and Esther (Juehring) Brinkman. He graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1954. Ron married Alta Latare on September 9, 1955 at Zion Lutheran Church in Wyoming, Iowa. The couple lived in Oxford Junction and Independence, Iowa where Ron was a Chemical Rep. Upon retirement they moved back home to Oxford Junction. He was a lifelong member of the Masonic Lodge. Ron loved hunting, fishing and trapping. He won many trophies for trap and skeet shooting.

Those left to cherish his memory are his four children: Roxann (Ron) Vacek, Jeff Brinkman, Steve (Kay) Brinkman, Lisa Wirth, six grandchildren: Joy (Brent) Leeper, Lyndon (Linda) Vacek, Micheal (Barb) Leonard, Hunter Brinkman, Lucas Brinkman, Cole Wirth, eight great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, brother Ken (Carol) Brinkman and many nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife Alta in February of 2009, his parents and an infant granddaughter Jana Lynn.
