Richard “Dick” Nodurft, 85, of Lost Nation passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 at Manor Care in Bettendorf.
His funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lost Nation on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. A visitation will be held on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lost Nation. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Lost Nation. Dawson Funeral Services of Maquoketa is assisting his family.
Dick was born on August 13, 1936 in Davenport, Iowa to Donald and Genevieve (Burke) Nodurft. He graduated from Lost Nation High School. Dick proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. On January 15, 1966 he was united in marriage to Sharon Curtis at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lost Nation. For 30 years he took pride in being the custodian for the Lost Nation School. He was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lost Nation. He enjoyed listening to WMT, watching Days of Our Lives and socializing with family and friends. Dick was an avid Iowa Hawkeye, Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan.
Those left to cherish his memories are his children; Andrew (Kathleen) Nodurft of Worcester, Mass., Christopher Nodurft of Bettendorf, Allison Nodurft of Davenport, four grandchildren; Thomas (Ashley) Nodurft, Katelyn, Madison and Sean Nodurft, three great-grandchildren Hadley, Harper, Hayden, a sister Mary Jo Eye of Gravois Mills, Missouri, sister-in-law Gladys (Doug) Daniels, a brother-in-law Jim (Barb) Curtis.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife Sharon.
