Rebecca L. Clasen, 73, of Maquoketa passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at her home.
Her family has granted her wishes of cremation with a private family service. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Maquoketa. Dawson Funeral Services of Maquoketa is caring for her family.
Rebecca Lynn was born on January 17, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa to Clarence and Shirley (Schuling) Anderson. On July 23, 1966 she was united in marriage to Loren Clasen in Davenport, Iowa. She worked at Genesis Hospital for many years serving several different positions. She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. Rebecca enjoyed playing cards, visiting casinos, crocheting, watching NASCAR and canning, In her younger days she would spend her time camping and fishing with her family. She was an avid White Sox fan and attended many of their games. She was a former member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Maquoketa.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Kelly (Patrick) Ihns of Grain Valley, Missouri, Loren (Jennifer) Clasen of Stockton, Iowa, four grandchildren; Taylor (Sam) Chase, Dustin (Kristin) Ihns, Jarrett, Logan, three great-grandchildren; Quinn, Maddox, Maren, two sisters; Kathleen (Joseph) Butkovich of Broomfield, Colorado, Peggy (Kenneth) Head-Costello of Maquoketa and a special friend Randy Reed of Preston.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Loren and two nephews Michael and Thomas Clasen.
Memorials may be directed to Jackson County Humane Society, Jackson County Hospice or International RETT Syndrome Foundation in her honor. Cards of condolences may be mailed to Dawson Funeral Services Po Box 258 Wyoming, Iowa 52362.
