Mary “Christy” Campbell, 58, passed away on August 23, 2020 at her home in Oxford Junction surrounded by her loved ones.
Services will be held on Thursday, August 27 at 12:00 p.m. at a graveside burial at Mayflower Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 12:00 p.m. before the service at the Dawson Funeral Home in Oxford Junction.
Mary Christine was born on October 31, 1961 in Maquoketa, Iowa to Robert and Mary Lee (Hoffman) Benischek.
Christy was a very dedicated Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. In 2019 she was the Volunteer of the Year in Oxford Junction. She had a huge heart and was always helping others.
She worked as a Nurse’s Aide and caregiver but spent many of her years mowing grass and shoveling snow for much of the community. Christy enjoyed taking care of the elderly people of Oxford Junction. On October 23 She married Bill Campbell. They spent 20 years together.
Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Bill, two children: Darren and Timmy, three stepchildren Jennifer (James) Connolly of Maquoketa, Joseph Campbell of Maquoketa, Jason (Annie) Campbell of DeWitt, grandson Dylan, seven step-grandchildren, Demi, Emily, Hunter, Lauren, Elias and Harper. One great grandson Cannon, two sisters; Laurie (Mike) Lemmer of Cascade, Georgia (Denny) Fields of Oxford Junction, 2 brothers; Donnie Benischek of Maquoketa and Terry (Lori) Benischek of Maquoketa.
Preceding her in death are her parents, two brothers: Steven and Jim Bob,
step-granddaughter Taylor and mother and father-in-law, Esther and Earl Campbell.
