Born January 12th, 1942, to Evelyn and Roy Keiderling. Mary lived her joyful young life in Waterloo, IA with her five siblings Nick, Dennis, Martha, Jim, and Joe, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends nearby. Mary graduated high school from Columbus High School in Waterloo year 1960. Following high school, Mary was a nurse for 10 years.
Mary was a fun-spirited soul who took on many passions. One of which included sewing and teaching her grandchildren how to. She found comfort and peace in teaching and reading to young kids at many different schools. One of her favorite careers in her lifetime was managing a hotel and restaurant in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mary loved watching basketball, especially college basketball. Mary had the opportunity to be present in her grandchildren’s lives and enjoyed spending time with them throughout her life.
Mary was a beautiful person inside and out. Her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. She cared so deeply for the people around her. She was so kind and passionate. She made an impact on many lives. She will be forever missed.
Mary was predeceased by her parents Evelyn and Roy as well as her son William Fletchall. Mary is survived by her daughter, Jackie (Todd) Smith, Cheri (Gary) Holmes, her daughter-in-law Paige Fletchall, her grandchildren Kara (Daniel) Davis, Laura (Tyler) Vogt, Leah (Wes) Maples, Michael Eddington, Justin Smith, Mason (Emily) Smith, Danielle Eddington, Cassidy (Zach) Chalupa, Whitney (Jace) Smith, Andrew (Brandi) Tanyaviriya, Amanda Jo Ray, and Preston Ray, great-grandchildren Tony Cooper, Lexi Eddington, Navy Chalupa, Silas Cooper, Sunni Smith, Emily, Abby, and Drew Tanyaviriya, Grady and Amelia Davis, Trinity and Colton Nichols, Tinsley, Tugger, Tate Vogt, and Elijah Maples, her sister Martha, and her brothers Nick, Dennis, Jim, and Joe.
Mary’s favorite memories from her youth were spending time on her family farm with her husband, Richard Fletchall, and their kids, Bill, Jackie, and Cheri. They had lots of animals, and Mary loved her pet Airedales. Mary also loved cooking and baking for her children and all her nieces and nephews.
Mary was a strong fighter, but she is now sailing on a journey to shores that we cannot see. We know that she is free from pain and at peace.
Until we meet again.
