Lorna L. Tarbox

Lorna Lee Tarbox, age 82, of Olin, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, June 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in March 1943 in Boscobel, Wisconsin, to Leone and Chalmer Strack.

On November 5, 1962, Lorna was united in marriage to Harold R. Tarbox. The couple made their home in Olin, Iowa, where they spent the majority of their 62 years of marriage raising their family and building a life rooted in love and devotion. After the birth of their children, Lorna became a dedicated full-time caregiver, a role she embraced wholeheartedly.

Creative and talented, Lorna found great joy in working with her hands. She loved crafting—especially woodworking, painting, and crocheting—and her handmade creations were a reflection of her care and gentle spirit.

She is survived by her husband, Harold R. Tarbox of Olin; daughters Terri Petersen, Tina Sterbenz, and Heather (Dan) Fall, all of Low Moor; son Tony (Heather) Petersen of Low Moor; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Lorna was preceded in death by her parents; her children Lori Tarbox, Harold Tarbox II, and Barry Petersen; her sisters Linda Fall and Donna Stagman; and her brother Charles Strack.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin, with a funeral service beginning at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at the Olin Cemetery.
