Laurie Ann Sills

Laurie A. Sills (Fleming), 62, of Olin passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa after her courageous battle against cancer.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00 pm on Friday, July 19, 2024 at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 20 at Dawson Funeral Services. Burial will be at the Olin Cemetery at a later date.

Laurie Ann was born on November 7, 1961 in Anamosa, Iowa to Richard and Marcella (Jerome) Fleming. She graduated from Olin High School in 1981. At the Olin United Methodist Church she was united in marriage to Cliff Sills. Laurie was an extremely hard worker and worked at Leer Manufacturing for years and she worked at Rockwell Collins for over 20 years. Her greatest blessings in life were her family. She loved spending time with her children and especially grandchildren. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and Harley Davidson fan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents Richard (Marcella) Fleming of Olin, her husband Cliff, four children; James(Jim) King of Centerville, TN, Kendra Sills-Brown of Lisbon, Kaylee (Ricky) Clark  and CJ Sills both of Olin, three grandchildren Isabelle, Brilynne , and Vivian, a sister Deb (Phil) Fordyce of Marion and a brother Rick Fleming of Olin.  Uncle and aunts, cousins, a niece, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, several aunts and uncles and a great niece.
