LaVonne K. Marling

LaVonne Kathryn Marling passed away on March 5, 2021 at her home in Olin, Iowa Born September 25, 1925 at home in Anamosa, Iowa she graduated from Independence High School in 1943 along with her classmate and future husband, Harold Sylvester Marling. They were married on June 30, 1943 and celebrated with the family 75 years of marriage on June 30 ,2018. Harold passed away on August 16, 2020. LaVonne was a mother to three, Diana West, Dawn SMith and Michael (Patrice) Marling, grandmother to three grandchildren and to ten great-grandchildren. Not only was LaVonne a loving mother and grandmother but she enjoyed quilting, crafts, needlework and her speciality pie making. A beloved granddaughter is also known for her pie making and labeled her pies , "GRANDMA LAVONNE'S PIES!". LaVonne also enjoyed reading and volunteered at the Marion Library for a number of years. The family would like to thank Above and Beyond Hospice Care, Monticello, Iowa and their gifted staff for her excellent care at her home in Olin, Iowa
A private family burial will be held at Mount Hope in Independence, Iowa. Dawson Funeral Home in Olin is assisting the family at this time.
