Kevin Bahnsen

Kevin Dean Bahnsen, 66, son of Wayne  Bahnsen and Shirley Harms Bahnsen-Holerud of Onslow, Iowa,
passed away at the scene from injuries sustained from an accident on his motorcycle, by
Wyoming, Iowa, on Sunday, September 8, 2024.
Kevin has been cremated, in accordance with his wishes.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Wyoming Methodist
Church. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM with funeral to follow at 11:00 am. Burial at Wyoming
Cemetery. Luncheon will follow at the Onslow Community Room.
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother Shirley Bahnsen-Holerud, siblings: Steven W.
(Wanda) Bahnsen, Brenda (Dennis Miller) Bahnsen, honorary son Sam Wenzel and honorary
grandson Sawyer Wenzel, nieces, nephews, Aunt Barb and Uncle Ken Harms and his beloved
dog, Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his father Wayne, Aunt Phyllis, nephew Steven D. and stepdad
Dean Holerud.
Kevin worked at North Star Steel, Crop Production Services, City of Anamosa, City of Onslow
and Waste Water Management City Works in Oxford Junction. He was retired for a year and
enjoyed his retirement. Kevin loved the outdoors including gardening, fishing, hunting with his
dog, golfing and riding his motorcycle through the countryside.
