Karen Lea Huston, age 82, of Davenport, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025 at home.

A funeral service to honor Karen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the Wyoming Methodist Church in Wyoming, Iowa. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church. She will be laid to rest at the Wyoming Cemetery.

Karen was born on May 22, 1942, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Adolph Pavlista and Vera (Elkins) Pavlista. On December 17, 1960, she was united in marriage to Verlon Huston at the Wyoming Methodist Church. Together they built a life grounded in hard work, family values, and love. Karen was a dedicated and hardworking woman, contributing her talents to factory work and helping with the family farm.

Karen was known for her fun-loving spirit and infectious personality. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan, always cheering on her favorite team with passion. She loved playing cards — often bending the rules with a mischievous grin — and enjoyed the excitement of bingo. Karen found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren, creating countless cherished memories. She was also known for her remarkable cooking skills, providing comfort and delight through the meals she lovingly prepared.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Donna (Dean) Huston Dick of Davenport, Daniel Huston of Davenport, and a sister Carol Jenkins of Davenport; numerous nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Vera Pavlista; her beloved husband, Verlon Huston; a daughter Doreen; and her sister, Phyllis.

Karen’s legacy of love, laughter, and resilience will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
