Karen E. Dickey, 81, of Mechanicsville passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Her memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin. A visitation will be held on prior to her service on Saturday from 1:00-2:30 pm at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin. Burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsville.
Karen Elizbeth was born on September 17, 1940 in Iowa to Ben and Doris (Woods) Albaugh. She graduated from Mechanicsville High School in 1958. On May 1, 1959 she was united in marriage to Fred Dickey in Mechanicsville. She was a member of the Mechanicsville United Methodist Church, the Red Hat Society and the Mechanicsville Legion Auxiliary. She spent many years traveling with her husband in their truck. Karen enjoyed spending her winters in Yuma, Arizona. She also enjoyed going to new places and trying new things. She loved socializing and always had a lot to say. Karen adored spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memories are her children; Renae Boettcher, Regina Kerner both of Anamosa, Rod (Michelle McCall) Dickey, Randy (Kelley) Dickey both of Mechanicsville, six grandchildren; Rachelle, Brandon, Todd, Cassie, Lainey, Curtis and twelve great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother Dennis, brother-in-law Russ Dickey and mother and father-in-law Bill and Myrtle Dickey.
