Joyce E. Jansen

Joyce Elaine Jansen, 85, of Onslow, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Clarence Nursing Home.

Joyce was born on December 22, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois. She graduated from Monmouth High School and later attended AIC in Davenport. On November 14, 1964, Joyce was united in marriage to Gary Jansen at the First Presbyterian Church in Onslow. Together they shared many years of love, faith, and devotion to family.

Joyce worked as a medical secretary throughout her career and was known for her kindness, organization, and caring spirit. Her faith was an important part of her life. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Onslow and was active in church circle activities. She also enjoyed spending time with the Onslow Coffee Group, participating in card club gatherings, and attending the activities and events of her children and grandchildren.

Family was the center of Joyce's life. She treasured time spent with her loved ones and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren grow and supporting them in their many activities.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Gary Jansen of Onslow; her children, Tammy (Jamie) McAllister and Terry (Selita) Jansen; four grandchildren, Carly (Ryan) Warrick, Claire McAllister, Carson Jansen, and Adam Jansen.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank McPherson and Ida McPherson; her mother, Vivian McPherson and a granddaughter, Kirsten.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2026, at Dawson Funeral Services in Wyoming. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 19, 2026, at the First Presbyterian Church in Onslow with Pastor Wayne Peach officiating. Burial will follow at Wyoming Cemetery.
