Jeffrey Eggert

Jeffrey Charles Eggert, 64, of Wyoming, Iowa, passed away on June 14, 2026.

Jeff was born on December 6, 1961, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the son of Ralph J. Eggert and Dorothy Waters Eggert. He graduated from Midland High School with the Class of 1980. On April 20, 1990, he married Dawn Carstensen in Anamosa, Iowa.

Jeff was known for his strong work ethic, mechanical abilities, and willingness to lend a hand whenever needed. Throughout his life, he worked in farming and livestock production and was employed by Wilslef Welding, where he worked as a crane operator. Also, he served as Transportation Director for the Midland Community School District and worked at PMX Industries. He later owned and operated Wyoming Collision Repair and Eggert Crane Services.

He loved spending time with family and friends and cooking large meals for holidays and get-togethers for them. He thoroughly enjoyed working with animals, especially, elk and livestock.  He was a member of the Wyoming Volunteer Fire Department and served on the Wyoming Mutual Telephone Company Board. Whether operating heavy equipment, working on machinery, or enjoying the outdoors, Jeff appreciated a life built on hard work and self-reliance. He enjoyed tackling home improvement projects and taking pride in the work he accomplished.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Dawn Eggert of Wyoming; his twin daughters, Leigh Eggert and Paige (Adam Poduska); his faithful dog, Marley; his siblings, James (Carol) Eggert, Joy Eggert, Julie (Joe) Wojcik, and Jerry (Kathy) Eggert; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Dorothy Eggert.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Calkins Barn in Wyoming.

Memorials may be sent to the Wyoming Fire Department,  Midland Ambulance,  or Lake Miami Park in Lovilia, Iowa, where Jeff's elk are moving to in his honor.
