James “Jim” Noel Townsend II, 65, of Oxford Junction passed away in the early hours of Monday, March 2, 2026, peacefully at home.
Jim Townsend II was born on October 4th, 1960, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to James Townsend Sr. and Opal (Clary) Cain. Jims’s days were filled with crafts, playing Monopoly or Wii bowling and checking up on his loved ones. His biggest loves in life were his eight grandkids, his cats and his ice cream. He enjoyed watching WWE wrestling with his brother, Chucky, watching movies, especially Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and listening to Elton John, Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith.
Those left to cherish his memories are his brothers: Patrick Cain, Charles Townsend, ex-wife: Karen Townsend, children: Tammy (Jonny) Gutwiler, James (Charli) Townsend, Tommy Townsend, Grandchildren: Kaiden Coleman, Cheyenne, Savanna and Aspen Gutwiler, Jimmy and Eva Townsend, Gabbi and Lauran Wiese and Anna Rowley. And his cats: Streetcat Bob “Bobby” and Major Marques Warren “Marq”.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Sherman and Jerry and sisters: Sandy and Franny Cain.
Special thanks to his home health nurse, Sarah and his son, Tommy, who has resided with him in the past years.
Jim will be greatly missed by many and was known as the life of the party and a jokester, his memory will be cherished forever.
