James "Jim" Herman

James “Jim” Raymond Herman, 70, of Oxford Junction passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at his home in Oxford Junction.

His memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 10:00 A.M. at the Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming. Dawson Funeral Services of Oxford Junction is assisting the family. 

Jim was born on March 11, 1952, to Albert and Amber (Cole) Herman in Manchester, Iowa. He graduated from Clarence High School. Jim faithfully and honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. In 2010 he married Cindy Baldwin in Jungletown, Iowa.  After an honorable discharge from the Marines Jim started his own business “Herman’s Plumbing and Heating”. 

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and mowing lawn. In his earlier years you could find him camping, boating, and water skiing. 

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Cindy Herman, three children; Kory (Kassie) Herman of Olin, Chelsey Gatewood of Cedar Rapids, Kendal Herman of Hiawatha, two stepchildren; Kristopher Gilson of Oxford Junction, Nicholas (Cassi) Gilson of Onslow, thirteen grandchildren, one great grandson, brothers; Ronnie Herman of Hopkinton and Don Herman of Anamosa, sisters; Sharon (Stuart) Clark of Tipton and Sheryl (Duane) McDonald of Anamosa.

Preceding him in death were his parents, brother Dave Herman.
