Gregory A. O'Hara

Gregory Allen O’Hara, 73, of Lost Nation, Iowa, passed away suddenly at home on September 5, 2025.

Greg was born on June 24, 1952, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to John and Ruth (House) O’Hara. He graduated from Lost Nation High School and, on April 26, 1975, was united in marriage to Judy Wagner at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lost Nation.

For many years, Greg worked as a dedicated semi-driver for River Valley. Outside of work, he was known for his fun-loving and social personality. He enjoyed playing cards, chess, shooting pool, visiting the casino, riding motorcycles, and playing horseshoes. He also loved spending time with friends, enjoying a good beverage, and most of all, cherishing moments with his great-grandson, who brought him immense joy.

Those left to honor his memory include his children, Chad O’Hara and Stacey O’Hara; his sisters, Patricia O’Dean and Margaret Monaghan; his brothers, Mike (Karen) O’Hara, John (Lynn) O’Hara, Steven O’Hara, and David O’Hara; three grandchildren, Dakota, Bryon, and Cody; and one great-grandson, Silas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Judy; his brothers, Robert, Terry, and Donald; and his sister, Phyllis.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lost Nation. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Burial will take place at a later date at Smithtown Cemetery, rural Lost Nation.
