Glenace “Glenny” Fowler, 92, of Oxford Junction passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 4, 2024.
Her family has honored her wishes of cremation and a private burial, which will be held at a later date at the Mayflower Cemetery in Oxford Junction. Dawson Funeral Services is caring for Glenny’s family at this time.
Glenace Elaine, born February 16, 1932, in Jackson County, Iowa, was the daughter of Floyd and Vlasta (Wosoba) Guyer. She graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1950. On November 25, 1950, she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Fowler in Oxford Junction. Glenny is a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Wapsi Unit 473 in Oxford Junction. She operated Glenny’s Cafe and was also a school bus driver for many years. Glenny was a spirited woman with a quick wit and a big and generous heart. She was an avid fan of garage sales, and enjoyed socializing, playing cards with her friends, and watching Iowa basketball. Glenny cherished her family above all else. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who always put her family first.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two children: Kathy Vacek (Mark) of Oxford Junction, who was her devoted caregiver in her final years, and Rick (Karen) Fowler of Fort Dodge. Grandchildren Rachel (Michelle) Fowler of Des Moines, Eric (Sarah) Skoff of Wyoming, Megan (Michael) Bies of Bellevue, Maile Fowler (Heath) of Fort Dodge, and Keilani Fowler (Andre Sr.) of Denver, Co. Great grandchildren Addisen, Kaylee, Zoey, Aiden, Malia, Alani, Lavin, Aurik, Gunnar, and Andre Jr. Sister Pat Emmert and sister-in-law Margaret Fowler, several nieces and nephews, and her beloved cat, Peaches.
Glenny is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Marvin and Floyd Guyer, and sister Lillian Ritchie.
