Gary O. Beedle

Gary Owen Beedle, 81, of Baldwin passed away on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 at the Jackson County Regional Health Center. He gave the ultimate gift of life as a donor.

Gary’s funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2024 at Dawson Funeral Services in Maquoketa. A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday until the time of service.

Gary  was born in Maquoketa on June 27, 1942 to Donald and Helen (Glesner) Beedle. He graduated from Maquoketa High School. He worked at Alcoa from 1965-1998 and farmed with the Tabor Family and Bill Mc Gimpsey for many years. Also he owned and operated “Tiny’s Place” in Baldwin from 1982 until 1993.  On March 19, 1994 he was united in marriage to Karen Haley in Baldwin, Iowa. He is a member of the Christ's Community Church in Monmouth as well as a lifetime member of the Iowa Trapping Association and the National Trapping Association. Gary volunteered in his community in many different ways including being involved in the Baldwin Fire Department, Baldwin City Council, a chairman for the Baldwin-Monmouth Methodist Church, a volunteered at the visitor center at  Maquoketa State park, and a board member of the Sanitary Disposal Agency. He was a very caring man who would always lend a helping hand. Outdoors was his favorite place to spend time. Gary’s greatest blessings in life were his family.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Karen, children: Lori (Terry) Roling of Bellevue, Lisa (Richard) Hudson of DeWitt, Sherry Brix of Eldridge, Melissa (Larry) Sommers of Flower Mound, Texas, Perry Beedle of Davenport, Shane (Janet Carr) Beedle of DeWitt, ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, sister Sharon (Rick) Kreuger of Milton, Florida and a brother Donald (Gloria) Beedle of Everett, Washington.
