Gail A. Frederick

Gail A. Frederick, 74, of Olin passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024 at home surrounded by her family.

A visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 pm on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin. Her funeral service will be on Monday, May 20 at 10:00 am at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin.  Burial will be at Olin Cemetery, Olin, Iowa.

Gail was born on June 10, 1949 to Raymond and Marcella (Murfield) Batchelder in Anamosa, Iowa. She graduated from Olin High School in 1968. In 1990 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Clive “Brasso”  Frederick in Cedar Rapids. For several years she was a part owner of a flower shop in Olin, being a florist was her true passion. She worked at a few factories including Quaker Oats and Sheller Globe. In her later years she worked at the Olin School as a teachers aid until retirement. In her free time she enjoyed tending to her plants and flowers. Gail liked to read and spend time shopping. Her greatest joy in life came from spending time with her family and friends.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband Clive “Brasso”, four children; Kraig (Kelly) Snyder of Shueyville, Karrie (Brian) Hamling of Vinton, Kory (Kassie) Herman of Olin, Danielle (Nick) Shrope of Clarence, thirteen grandchildren and one on the way, three great-grandchildren and one on the way, two sisters; Nancy Derynck and Lori Harris both of Cedar Rapids, two sisters-in-law; Augusta Frederick and Veronica Frederick and two half brothers-in-law and a half sister-in-law.

Gail is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Evelyn, mother and father-in-law James (Sarah) Frederick, a sister-in-law Josephine and a brother-in-law Emmanuel.

Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Above & Beyond Hospice for the exceptional care they provided for her.
