Frank R. Caes, 83, of Hale passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.
Frank’s visitation will be held Friday, December 15, 2023 at the Oxford Junction Legionnaire from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. His funeral service with military honors will follow the visitation at 7:00 pm. Burial will be at a later date at the Hale Cemetery. Frank’s family requests casual attire to be worn.
Frank Raymond was born on August 12, 1940 in Iowa City, Iowa to Charles and Genevieve (Marr) Caes. Frank faithfully served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was stationed in Ft. Hood, TX, Germany, and Mojave Desert. On January 31, 1965 he was united in marriage to Martha Metzger, two daughters Laura and Margaret came about this union. On April 14, 1973 he married the love of his life Susan Leslie at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Wheatland, one daughter, Heather, was born to this union. He worked at Clinton Engines, was a farmer but he most loved his occupation of drilling wells for various companies. Frank was a member of the Wyoming American Legion Post #259. He enjoyed woodworking, painting, sketching, being the photographer at many family functions and gardening. He loved giving the things he made to others and sharing the knowledge of his hobbies with his grandkids. He also enjoyed sharing family time at NASCAR Races, Old Threshers and camping.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Sue, three daughters; Laura (Eric) Vernon, Margaret (TJ) Scaparotti, Heather (Victor) Curley; four stepchildren; Robin Todd, Paul (Tina) Daehn, Rodney Daehn, and Eric (Nancy) Daehn, 19 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and three siblings; Betty Hansen, Ben Caes and Gertrude Watts.
He is preceded in death by his parents, stepsons; Todd Daehn and Brad Daehn, four brothers Edmund, Ralph, Paul, and Joseph and a sister Sally Caes.
