Doris Ferne Erickson, age 88, of Anamosa, Iowa, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, at the Anamosa Care Center.
Doris was born on November 3, 1936, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to George and Mildred (Grimm) Kinkead. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Cedar Rapids. In 1972, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Erickson in Galena, Illinois.
Doris worked for many years as an expediter in the office at Rockwell Collins, where she was known for her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic.
Beyond her career, Doris was known for her independent spirit and practical nature. She loved the outdoors as well as the quiet comforts of home. She especially enjoyed playing poker with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Erickson; her brothers, Ron Kinkead and Robert Kinkead; her sister, Judy Faaborg; her sons, Mike Keller (Tammy) and Al Keller (Connie); and her parents, George and Mildred Kinkead.
Doris is survived by her brothers; Jim Kinkead (Julie) and David Kinkead; her sister, Faye Wade; her daughter, Penny Murphy; her grandchildren, Brandy Rula-McDonough and Mike Murphy; and her great-grandchildren, Nate Macho and Carson McDonough.
