Cory Taylor Obituary

Cory J. Taylor. 43, of the Virgin Islands formerly of Wyoming passed away on Tuesday,
September 10, 2024.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Calkins Barn in Wyoming from 4:00-8:00 pm on
Saturday, September 14, 2024. Dawson Funeral Services in Olin is caring for his family at this
time.

Cory John was born on March 29, 1981, in Cedar Rapids to Melody Hamilton and Craig Taylor. He
graduated from Midland High School in 1999. On Valentine’s Day in 2005 he was united in
marriage to Lindsay Podhaski in Las Vegas, NV. Cory was a man of many trades and could fix
just about anything. He was proud of his business Taylor Painting, which he started shortly after
high school. He enjoyed being outdoors fishing, boating riding his motorcycle or going on his
annual snowmobile trips with his friends. His greatest accomplishment was his daughter
Maylin, he loved spending time with her. He was so proud of her and enjoyed spoiling her with
all the mini versions of his toys.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Lindsay, daughter Maylin, mother Melody
Thompson, father Craig Taylor, grandparents Garrett (Janice) Gerdes, brother Justin (Nicole)
Taylor, two nephews: Mason and Kaiden and a niece on the way.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents and his maternal grandpa Don Hamilton.
