Connie K. Browne, 82, of Lost Nation passed away on Friday, February 17, 2023 at the Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 18 at 11:00 am at the Union Presbyterian Church in Lost Nation. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18 from 9:00-11:00 am at the Union Presbyterian Church. Burial will be at Smithtown Cemetery, rural Lost Nation. Dawson Funeral Services of Maquoketa is caring for her family.
Connie Kay was born on March 13, 1940 in Toronto, Iowa to Earl and Fern (Gade) Holtz. On April 2, 1955 she was united in marriage to the love of her life Larry Browne at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lost Nation. In her younger years she was a a waitress for several establishments and cleaned houses and offices. For several years she was the secretary for Smithtown Cemetery and the secretary for Dr. Randolph Vet Clinic. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, crocheting and working on puzzles. Connie was a leader for 4-H and the local Girl Scout Troop. She loved being a part of the Lost Nation community for most of her life and she loved spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Sheree Segebert of Spillville, Randy (Cheryl) Browne of Pella, Mark (Chuck Cook) Browne of Ottawaa, Ontario, Canada, five grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren a sister Carol (Larry) Gilson of Aurora and a brother Larry (Deb) Holtz of Phoenix, AZ.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a grandson Chuck.
