Chester Denniston

Chester L. Denniston, 78, of Anamosa and formerly of Onslow passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024, at the Anamosa Care Center.

His visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming. His memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 4 at the Zion American Lutheran Church. Burial will be at the Wyoming Cemetery. Dawson Funeral Services of Wyoming is caring for his family.

Chester Lewis was born on August 18, 1946, in Anamosa, Iowa, to Gene and Lorraine (Moenk) Denniston. He graduated from Midland High School in 1964 and earned his Industrial Engineering Degree from Iowa State University. He worked as an engineer at Multi Food for many years before retiring. Chester was united in marriage to Alice Rogers and three children came of this union, they later divorced. He was a member of the Zion American Lutheran Church in Wyoming. Chester enjoyed fishing, golfing, racing cars and the outdoors. Euchre was his card game of choice, and he never turned down a trip to the casino. His grandchildren were his pride and joy and loved spending time with them.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children: Ryan (Brooke Avery) Denniston of Huntersville, NC, Ashley (Adam) Frisch of Huntersville, NC, Brooke (John) Nickerson of San Francisco, CA, six grandchildren: Jackson, Caitlyn, Chase, Cole, Bailey, Asher and a sister Carol (Jim) Eggert of Wyoming.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Chester's family would like to thank the staff at Anamosa Care Center for their care and the Jones Regional Palliative Care Team for the great support and guidance they gave to him over the years. They would also like to extend a special thank you to Ashley Wirth  and her staff at Woodland Park for the amazing love and care you gave to Chester.
