Charles A. Wiese, 71 of Oxford Junction passed away on September 21, 2024 comfortably in his home with his loving family by his side after a courageous, year long battle with cancer. Dawson Funeral Service is caring for the family at this time.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 26 from 1:30-4:00 pm at the Oxford Junction Senior Center.
Charles Albert Wiese, a brown eyed handsome man, was born on April 3, 1953 at the Jackson County Public Hospital to Madeline and Albert Wiese of Fulton, Iowa.
Charles was united in marriage to Sue Petersen on March 2nd, 1975. They had four girls, Shannon, Mamie, Madeline and Charli. They settled their family in Oxford Junction. Charlie was a jack of all trades and spent his years doing many different things including over the road trucking, water well drilling and working for the City of Oxford Junction. Charlie loved to play cards, from Euchre with his family, 31 with his grandkids, or Solitaire by himself. He had many friends, was well known and legendary in his own right.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife of 50 years, Sue, his daughters, Shannon Petersen, Mamie Wiese (Trampas Sauer) of Oxford Junction, Madeline (Steve) Klemme of Oxford Junction, Charli Wiese (Jim Townsend) of Oxford Junction, sisters, Edna Edwards of Maquoketa, Janet DeLarm of Oxford Junction, grandchildren, Mason Petersen, Jonny Thomsen, Carl Thomsen, Lane Thomsen, Hailey (Jalen) Huston, Tyler Klemme, Heath Sauer, Gabriella Wiese, Lauran Wiese, James Townsend, Eva Townsend and many others who called him Dad or Grandpa over the years.
Preceding him in death are his parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Heartland Hospice of Davenport for their amazing care.
