Carrie Lee Fortin, 65, of Olin, Iowa, passed away peacefully on her birthday, Thursday, August 21, 2025, at her home surrounded by family.

Carrie was born on August 21, 1960, in Iowa to Carl and Bernita “Bee” (Huston) DeWoody. She graduated from Olin High School. On June 10, 1983, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Paul Fortin, during a nighttime wedding ceremony at the Olin Methodist Church.

She dedicated her career to education, serving as a school business manager for many years at Olin School and later with the North Cedar School District. Carrie will be fondly remembered as a fun, loving, and outgoing wife, mother, daughter, and friend who brought joy to those around her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Dawson Funeral Services in Olin. Burial will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to her family in her honor.

Those left to cherish her memory include her father, Carl; her husband, Paul; and her two daughters, Amy and Libby. She was preceded in death by her mother, Bee, and her brother, Lance.
