Annette Marie Vozenilek
Annette Marie Vozenilek, 66, of Maquoketa, passed away peacefully at her home on August 9, 2025.
Annette was born on April 22, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to George and Norma (Brown) Vozenilek. In her younger years, she worked as a waitress and delivered the Clinton Herald newspaper.
Annette had a love for NASCAR, especially cheering for her favorite driver, Mark Martin. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was always ready to get out of the house for a drive—often heading to Dubuque to watch the planes come and go at the airport. Her favorite country singer of all time was Dwight Yoakam, and she never missed her daily cup of coffee, faithfully brought to her by her sister.
She loved watching her favorite television shows, including Days of Our Lives, The A-Team, The Dukes of Hazzard, and old westerns.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Laurie Vozenilek; two grandchildren, Amy (Austin) and Connor; sisters, Janet (Cal) Vozenilek Clark and Penny Vozenilek; brother, Dennis Harford; nieces, Tiffany, Cheyenne, Dawn, Clarissa; nephew, John; and great-nieces and nephews, Teagan, Journey, Kendyl, Kane, and Creed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Blaine.
In honoring Annette’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
