Vernice Louise (Pierce) Law, 84 of Oxford Junction, Iowa passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 13th, 2014. Funeral services will be held at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction, Iowa on Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m., prior to the funeral service at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction, Iowa. Burial will take place following funeral services at Mayflower Cemetery in Oxford Junction.

Vernice L. (Pierce) Law was born on November 1st, 1929 to Franklin and Mable (Kaufman) Pierce in Bethel Township, Fayette County, IA. She married Harry W. Law Jr. on August 7th, 1948 in Waucoma, IA. Vernice taught for over 20 years, first at an Amish School and later in Oxford Junction. She was a member of the Oxford Junction Library Board for 25 years, a 4-H Leader and the WELCA Church group, she also attended St. Mark's Lutheran Church. In her free time Vernice loved sports especially girls' high school basketball and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Chicago Cubs.

Vernice is survived by her daughter Wendy (Greg) Kastner of Robinson, IL, her daughter-in-law Michele Law of Frankfort, IL and grandchildren Emily (Jake) Spitz of Chicago, IL and Michael Law of Mt. Vernon, IA, also her sister-in-law, Anna Stober of Bokeelia, FL and Ellen Law of Coon Rapids, MN, and several nieces and nephews. Vernice was preceded in death by her husband and two sons Terry and Richard.

Memorials left in her memory are preferred to St. Mark's Lutheran Church and Wregie Library both in Oxford Junction, IA.
