Steven C. Blume, 54 passed away from a sudden illness Sunday, October 25, 2015, at his home in Oxford Mills. Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2015, from 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Oxford Junction. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon, burial will follow at the Mayflower Cemetery. Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction is serving the family. Steven was born on September, 20, 1961, in Maquoketa Iowa, the son of Charles and Geraldine (Bizek) Blume. He graduated from Oxford Junction High School in 1980 and enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1982. Steven was previously employed at Sheller Globe for 11 years, Betterway Carpet Cleaning, and Temp Services. He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed trout fishing. Steven took great pride in his family, gardening, and yard work. He is survived by his mother, Geraldine, 3 sisters: Brenda (Larry) Otte, Oxford Junction, Laurie (Steve) Jansen, Anamosa, and Rhonda (Todd) Jeffery, Wyoming, 7 nieces and nephews, and 9 great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Blume, and his Grandparents. Steven will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
