Rosalie Gilmore, of Maquoketa passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Crestridge Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 10, at 10:30 a.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa, Iowa, friends may call on Friday, September 9 from 4-7 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home, burial will be at Monmouth Cemetery.

Rosalie was born on August 29, 1930 in Monmouth, Ia. To Ralph and Eva (Huffman) Edwards. She graduated from Monmouth High School. She was united to Benjamin Gilmore and they later divorced.

Rosalie worked many years at Better Homes Furniture and later owned her own decorating and window treatment business. She was a member of the Rake and Hoe Garden Club in Iron Hill.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children; Lonny (Nancy) Gilmore, Charles (Phyllis) Gilmore, Kimberly (Lee) Decker all of Maquoketa, five grandchildren; Jeff Gilmore, Mike Gilmore, John Keil, Kathryn Shanahan, Wesley Shanahan, five great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild, longtime companion of 42 years, John Melroy of Maquoketa, sister Bonnie Parmer of Maquoketa, brother Randall (Sharon) Edwards of Kahoka Missouri, sister-in-law Darcy Edwards of Delmar and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother James, and brother -in-law Gene Parmer.
