Randy P. Lahey, 58, of Maquoketa passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Jackson County Regional Health Center.
His Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 19 from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Lahey & Dawson Funeral Service in Maquoketa. Burial will be held at West Union Cemetery at a later date.
Randy was born on August 25, 1958 in Dubuque, Iowa to Loras J. and Cecilia (Steffens) Lahey. He was raised by Loras and Mary Lahey. He graduated from Fayette High School in 1976 and attended Upper Iowa University where he received his bachelor degree in business. He then went on to earn his degree in Mortuary Science. Upon graduation Randy became a funeral director and was the owner and operator of Lahey Funeral Homes for almost 30 years.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in both Maquoketa and Oxford Junction. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. Loosbrook Council 8269 where he was a past Grand Knight. He also was a member of Kiwanis Club, Rotary and was on the IFDA Ethics Board for several terms and a member of the NFDA.
Randy is survived by his children; Kevin Lahey of Maquoketa, Todd (Jenny) Lahey of Cedar Rapids, Brian (Jacqueline) Lahey of Anamosa, Amy (Jared) Delarm of Maquoketa, five grandchildren; Hayden, Nolan, Kellan, Hudson, and Abigail, a sister Gloria "Jeannie" Wedo of Prairie Du Chien, a brother Chuck (Sandy) Lahey of Durand, Illinois, sister-in-law Doris Lahey of New Glarus, Wisconsin, several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog Isabelle who was always by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Gail, and brothers; Jerry and Loras.
Memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Church in his honor.
