Mildred L. Clapp, 93 of Clinton and formerly of Toronto and Oxford Junction died on Saturday morning at Bickford Cottage in Clinton, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 19th at 11:00 A.M. at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction where friends may call on Wednesday morning from 10 until service time at 11 A.M. Burial will be in the Lost Nation Cemetery. Mildred was born on March 22nd, 1920 daughter of George and Beulah Chapman Leslie. She attended and graduated from the Oxford Junction High School, and married William "Bill" Clapp on February 14th, 1950 in Oxford Junction, Iowa he died in April of 1994. She and her husband had farmed in the Toronto area. She loved her church, Assembly of God, and its activities. Mildred liked to sew, crochet, cook, but most of all spend time with her family, and travel when she could. Mildred is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Mae (Kent) McVicker of Sherrill, Iowa Three grandchildren; Abagail, and Adam McVicker of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Aaron McVicker of Grinnell, eleven great-grandchildren, two sisters; Marjorie (Chuck) Brotherton of Cannonsburg, Pa. and Gertrude (Wayne) Zaruba of Maquoketa, Iowa. One Brother, George (Eleanor) Leslie of Clinton. Preceding her in death was her husband and a son Gary in 1974, three brothers and one sister, and her parents.
