Mary Frett, 73, of Maquoketa, Iowa passed away peacefully on Monday, June 23, 2014. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, June 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. Friends and family may call from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014, and the rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa. Burial will take place at Sugar Creek Cemetery. Mary Agnes Caroline Wagemester was born on December 7, 1940 in Clinton, Iowa to parents Joseph and Clara (Boehmer) Wagemester. She was united in marriage to John Frett on April 24, 1963 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Clinton, Iowa. Mary was a homemaker and also worked for Pacific Coast Feather Co. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, gardening, scrapbooking, baking and cooking. Mary is survived by her husband, John and her sons, David (Julie) Frett of Bellevue, Iowa, and Glen Frett of Rural Preston, Iowa, four sisters, Bernice Mootz of DeWitt, Iowa, Rosemary Wagemester of DeWitt, Iowa, Viola (Paul) Frett of Maquoketa, Iowa, and Joanne (Jim) Diehl of Elizabeth, Illinois, three brothers; Bernard (Janis) Wagemester of Clinton, Iowa, Edward (Ardith) Wagemester of DeWitt, Iowa and Robert (Donna) Wagemester of Clinton, Iowa, and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Lucille Wagemester and brother-in-law, Emil Mootz. Memorials are preferred.
