Mary L. Barker, 90, of Maquoketa passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at her home.

A private family service will be held and burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Maquoketa. Lahey Funeral & Cremation Service in Maquoketa will be assisting the family with their arrangements.

Mary Lucille Gombert was born on May 26, 1925 in Perry Township, Jackson County, Iowa to Anton and Cristina (Jorgensen) Gombert. She graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to Robert Barker, he preceded her in death.

She is survived by seven children: Dion (Betty) Wilson of Peoria, Ill, Charmayne McMurray of Dubuque, Elaine Mercado of Maquoketa, Dona Bennett of Maquoketa, Doris (Joe) King of Cedar Rapids, Steven (Judy) Wiebenga of Maquoketa, Wendy (Terry) Smith of Davenport and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a daughter Tony Wise.

Memorials may be given in Mary's honor to Jackson County Hospice or American Cancer Society.
