Marjorie Holub, 90, of Monticello, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Monticello Nursing Home. Bural will take place at the Wyoming Cemetery on November 8, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Lahey Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Marjorie Muriel was born on March 16, 1924 to John and Marjorie (Taylor) Holmes in Onslow, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Arthur Holub on July 19, 1940 in Elkader, Iowa. Marjorie worked for the Anamosa Dress Shop, Marshall Printing, and was a homemaker while farming with her husband. She enjoyed gardening, reading, day trips and spending time with her grandchildren. Marjorie is survived by her son, Steve (Cindy) Holub of Delmar, IA, Daughter-in-law, Sharon Holub of Anamosa, IA, 4 grandchildren; Matthew Holub (Anjali Summers), Robert Holub, Kim Peck and Jeff (Linda) Holub, 5 great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and sisters; Joyce Farrington of Prairieburg, IA and Dorothy Lange of Olin, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son, Charles, and sisters; Patricia Sobotka, Wilma Hurt, and Mary Jones. Memorials are preferred.
