Mae 'Mother Mae' Pearl Kish, 75, of Maquoketa, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, June 14th, 2014. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa, Iowa. The family will honor her request for cremation and burial will take place at a later date. Mae Pearl Hendersen was born on April 27th, 1939 to parents, Robert and Lula (Odell Orrick) Hendersen in Arkansas. She married Warren Allen Kish Sr., he preceded her in death. She worked in sales most of her life and "Mother Mae" owned and operated Mothers Detour Inn in Andrew, Iowa for 13 years. She is survived by five children; Melody McAndrew of West Des Moines, Iowa, Luana Kish of Maquoketa, Iowa, Wendy Kish of Dickeyville, Wisconsin, Warren Kish, Jr. of Denver, Colorado, and Kim Johnson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and ten grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Sr., and her daughter, Melesa Joy, in 1982. Memorials are preferred.
