Hometown: Maquoketa, Iowa July 18, 1921 - January 16, 2013

Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Iowa Memorial: Jorge Della Rosa, 92 of Maquoketa died on Wednesday evening at the Maquoketa Care Center in Maquoketa. Friends may call on Sunday from 3 to 6 PM at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa. A vigil service will be held at 6:OO PM Sunday evening. Burial will be at a later date at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Jorge was born on July 18th, 1921 son of Victor and Blanca (Vignati) Rossa in Cuzco, Peru. After moving to the states, he became a nationalized US Citizen, He had served in the US Navy being Stationed in the Great Lakes. He loved to dance, cook, and shoot pool, and listen to big band music, especially spending time with his grandchildren. He liked to flirt and was always a gentleman. Survivors include his daughter, Dianna Della Rosa of Maquoketa; Four granddaughters; Jenny (Joel) Driscoll of Preston, Katie Brown, Shannon (Mert) Brandenburg, Michaella Hahn, all of Maquoketa. Six greatgrandchildren; Zach, Hunter, Abbey, Peyton, Kameryn, and Tucker, One sister Violeta Marsano in Peru. A sister in law; Shirley Ostert in DeWitt, many nieces and nephews in California, Iowa, New York, Florida as well as Peru and Argentina. He was preceeded in death by his Wife, one Son, and nine Brothers and Sisters. Memorials are preferred,
