John Feltes, 61, of Wheatland passed away on June 28, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

His funeral service will be held on at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa. A visitation will be held before the service from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa. Burial will be held at a later date.

John was born on March 10, 1955 to Gerald and Helen (Duffy) Feltes in Maquoketa. He attended Maquoketa Schools and went on to marry Jane Bormann in Bellevue, Iowa.

He worked at International Paper in Clinton for over twenty years, as well as Cranbeck Feeds in Clinton, Iowa. John loved to play computer games and playing cards. He was an avid reader of western and war novels. He enjoyed golfing, the outdoors, and also attending the races in Maquoketa. He also took joy in fixing and remodeling things.

Those left to cherish his memories are his dad Gerald Feltes of Maquoketa, a sister Catherine "Cathy" (John) Vachris of Ames and a brother Richard (Denise) Feltes of Wheatland.

He is preceded in death by his mother Helen and wife Jane.
