John Christophersen, 85, of Clarence, Iowa passed away at his home on Friday, May 16th, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 21st, 10:30 a.m.at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oxford Junction, Iowa. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, May 20th, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m., with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Oxford Junction. John M. Christophersen was born on June 25th, 1928 to parents Ingwer and Meta (Baguss) Christophersen in Clarence. He was united in marriage to Frances 'Betty' Rouse on April 7th, 1951. John was a life-long farmer. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Church Board, Clarence School Board, Oxford Junction Polka Band, and a Jones County Supervisor for 16 years. John is survived by his daughter, Jane (Jim) Goggin of ElCajon, CA, his son, Scott (Jennifer) Christophersen of Iowa City, IA, his grandchildren; Alex, Lillie, Amanda, Beth and Jake Christophersen and Mallory Goggin and great-grandchild, Joesph Christophersen. John was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty, sons; Dr. Tim Christophersen, DVM and Mark Christophersen, his brother, Alfred Christophersen, and sister, Helen Thies. Memorials are preferred.
