Janet M. Bodkin, 74, of Maquoketa passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at her home.

Her funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. A visitation will be on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Maquoketa.

Janet Marie was born on July 20, 1941 to Ted and Dorothy (Buck) Hamilton in Iowa City, Iowa. She was united in marriage to Thomas Bodkin on June 15, 1963 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Eagles Club, and a Spousal Support Group in Maquoketa. She loved to bowl and was in a bowling league. Janet was an avid Iowa Hawkeye Football fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spending time at the casino.

Those left to honor Janet's memory are her four children; Richard (Theresa) Bodkin of Davenport, Steve (Debbie) Bodkin of Maquoketa, Billy Bodkin of Bellevue, Mary (Louis) Cubbage of Arizona, twelve grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren soon to be twelve, two sisters, Sandy Conley, Linda (Roger) Workman, and four brothers, Don Hamilton, Thomas (Faye) Hamilton, Larry Hamilton, and Gene (Judy) Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters Yavonne and Kay and a brother-in-law Rich Conley.
