James "Jim" Schiffer, 49, of Maquoketa passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016.

His funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa. A visitation will be held on Monday, February 15 from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa, where a Rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m.. Burial will be held in The Holy Rosary Cemetery, LaMotte.

James was born on February 14, 1966 to Elmer and Marcella "Sally" (Pitts) Schiffer in Dubuque Iowa. He graduated from Andrew High School, class of 1984. He went on to study and graduate at The University of Iowa. He married Angel Potter on February 14, 1996. He was the leading salesman at Brad Deery Motors in Maquoketa for more than 25 years and often the top salesman for many consecutive years.

Jim enjoyed to deer hunt and trout fish. He had many Iowa Big Trout trophy records. He also enjoyed hunting for morels, riding his Harley, and especially spending time with his family. He was very proud of his three sons and all their accomplishments.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife; Angel, three children; Levi (Leslie) Frost of Cedar Falls, Wyatt Schiffer of Cedar Falls, Kyle Schiffer of Maquoketa, 2 grandsons; Aiden and Avery Frost, his parents, Elmer and Sally, his sister; Sharon "Sherrie" (Gary) Witter of Marion, Brothers; Gary (Lisa) of LaMotte, Don (Jeanie) of Dubuque and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, and several aunts and uncles.
