Harriet Moreland Shriver, 95, of Mechanicsville formally of Olin passed away June 7, 2014 at the Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Friends and family may call on Thursday, June 12, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Graveside Services will be held on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Olin Cemetery. Harriet was born on January 3, 1919 to Franklin and Rosetta (Dixon) Fall in Olin, IA. On May 3, 1935 Harriet married Donald C. Moreland in Rock Island, IL. To this union 3 children were born and survive her. Ronald (Sandi) Moreland of Lisbon, Dixie Hollingsworth, of Olin and Nancy (Ronald) Marlette of Winter Haven, Florida. Also surviving Harriet are four grandchildren, Tony (Karla) Moreland of Lisbon, Jeff Hollingsworth of Marion, Sheila (Todd) Rouse of Olin and Marc (Elizabeth) Marlette of Cincinnati, OH. Seven great-grandchildren, Andy (Holly), Brock, Joshua, Larissa, Mackenzie, Ainsley, Matthew and one great-great grandson Oden. Donald passed away July 15, 1976. On November 26, 1977 she married Darrell Shriver in Olin. He passed away June 18, 2005. Those also preceding Harriet in death were her parents, her brother and two son-in-laws. Harriet's joy and greatest love was her family. She also liked playing bingo, knitting and crocheting. She made all her love ones Afghans so they would feel her love wrapped around them. Harriet will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the Mechanicsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the loving care Harriet was given the last five years. Memorials are preferred.
