Greta Gronewold, 77, of North Liberty, Iowa, passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Funeral services will be held at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin, Iowa on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will take place from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday also at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. Burial will be in Olin Cemetery. Greta Ann was born on June 19, 1937 to parents John and Marguerite (Simmons) Moreland. She married Laurence Gronewold on June 19, 1956 in Rochester, Iowa. She worked as a housekeeper for the University of Iowa Hospitals for 14 years and Cornell College for 18 years, where she also served as the Union President for 16 years. Greta liked to read, go out to eat, baking, cooking and spending time with her dogs, Sadie and Daisy. Greta is survived by her sons; Larry Gronewold and Tracy Gronewold, daughters; Lori Roller, Lisa Gronewold and Lana Gronewold, brothers; John Moreland and Sidney Moreland and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, her daughter, Lue Anne Huber, parents, her brother, Darrell Moreland, and three great-grandchildren. Memorials are preferred.
