Frances McArdle, 88, formerly of Bellevue, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her family has honored her wishes for cremation and no memorial services will be taking place. Lahey Funeral Home of Maquoketa, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements. Frances Mariam Smith was born on November 20, 1926 in Herrin, Illinois to parents Thomas Edward and Nora (Adkins) Smith. She was united in marriage to Robert P. McArdle in 1972 in Harvard, Illinois. She was trained and worked as a medical technician and was also a business owner with her husband of a Bellevue lumberyard. Frances is survived by her son, Brad (Patsy) Brown of Delavan, WI, 2 grandchildren, Stacy (Jeff) Best of Scottsdale, AZ, and Greg (Mike Copping) Brown of Bangkok, Thailand, 2 great grandchildren, Mackenzie Best and Kylie Best both of Scottsdale, AZ, her sister, Perneatta Saraf of IL, and her brother, Donald Edward (Dagmar) Smith of NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 2 sisters and a brother. Memorials may be made in her memory to Alzheimer's Association or your local animal shelter.
