Eva L Gohlmann, 94, of Lost Nation passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at Wheatland Manor in Wheatland, Iowa.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Christian Free Lutheran Church in Wheatland. Friends and family may call on Tuesday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the church. The family has honored her request to be cremated, burial will be at the Lost Nation Cemetery at a later date.

Eva Lorraine Gohlmann was born to Anton and Christina Jorgensen Gombert December 8, 1919 in Jackson County near Andrew, Iowa. She attended country school in Jackson County near Andrew, Iowa. She entered St Lukes Hospital School of Nursing in Davenport, Iowa in 1938, graduating in 1941 as a registered nurse, nursing in various area hospitals, office nursing, private duty and school nursing. She retired in 1985. She was a member and attended Christian Free Lutheran church in Wheatland Iowa and Zion Lutheran in Davenport, Iowa.

Eva enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, sewing, tatting, music, church and especially spending time with her family. Without God and Jesus she could have done nothing. She is survived by her children, Ronald Michael Gohlmann (Joyce) of Davenport, IA, Leland Wayne (Jeri) Gohlmann of Fremont, NE, Sybil Marie (Duane) Brockmeyer of Massillon, IA. A sister Mary Lucille Barker of Maquoketa. Four grandchildren, Todd (Annette) Gohlmann of Ames, IA, Amy (Jeff) Guiaya of Massillon, IA, Oliver (Marie) Brockmeyer of Oxford Junction, IA and Cory Jentz of Chesnee, SC. Six great-grandchildren, Jacob and Austin Gohlmann, Emily, Andrew, Toby Gigaya and Jesse Brockmeyer. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Her husband, Ronald preceded her in death July 27, 1989 and brothers, Chris, Floyd and Clarence and sisters Hilda Snoeberger, Florence Reed and Irene Gohlmann.
