Douglas E. Hansen, 64, of Maquoketa passed away on July 23, 2015 in Nebraska.

A visitation will be held on July 28, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Lahey Funeral Home in Maquoketa where a Vigil service will be held at 3:30 p.m. A private graveside service and burial will be at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery in Otter Creek, Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM.

Douglas was born in Iowa on August 24, 1950 to Edward and Arlene (Paarmann) Hansen. He attended Delwood High School. In 1983 he was united in marriage to Tina Bassler at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Otter Creek. He has been a self-employed truck driver for most of his life. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Maquoketa.

He was an avid gambler. Douglas liked visiting with his coffee group at City Limits and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Those left to honor Douglas' memory include his wife Tina, three children: Scott (Vicki) Hansen, Mike (Denisa) Hansen, Kelly (Zach) Fadale all of Maquoketa, four grandchildren, one brother Jeff (Peggy) Hansen of Maquoketa and a sister Colleen Scott of Wisconsin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Stacy Lynn.
